Welcome to the 2024 Summer Season! Learn how to sail at the Lake Joseph Yacht Club this summer! We are a small community based, volunteer run, non-profit sailing club in the heart of Muskoka on Lake Joe located beside the CNIB summer camp. The LJYC has been around since 1967 and offers a great opportunity for the local community, cottagers and their guests, to get to know their neighbors and develop sailing skills on a friendly basis. We have over 100+ sailors every summer – and are looking forward to including your sailors as one of them!
We offer youth courses on a weekly basis from Monday to Friday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Full Day and Half Day weekly program options –Ages 5 years + Private Adult and Youth Sailing Lessons by request and a Race Team. We offer Sail Canada’s (Canada’s National Sailing Authority) CanSail Programming: Levels Wetfeet to CanSail 6 .
NEW: On water boating skills for children or adults in their own boats or in one of our Tin Boats. We will also be offering Children's PCOC review lessons to prepare them to write the online PCOC course.. Please call for further information.

This can be taught in your own boat or one of our Tin Boats or Boston Whaler depending on the age of the student. Sessions will run from 4::30 to 6:30 weekdays. Note this is not the PCOC course.. You should have your PCOC license before attending.
Focus will be on building confidence and providing core skills for safe and competent outboard or inboard operation. Safety, docking,, slow and high speed maneuvers. You will also learn safe procedures on entering a marina and filling your gas at the gas dock. If time allows to familiarize yourself with your surrounding areas on the lake. The maximum sign up is 2 students (children) or 1 Adult and their child per session. - Please select Week and email your preference of date; Suggested 2 sessions

Your child will receive the following books the first time they register in the level. If they have misplaced the book you can order a new one. Note, books must be completed to pass the level.
